Replacing the nozzle on a hot glue gun can improve precision, control, and application for different projects. Follow these steps to change the nozzle safely.
What you need 🛠️
✔ Heat-resistant gloves (to protect your hands)
✔ Adjustable wrench or pliers
✔ Replacement nozzle (compatible with your glue gun)
✔ Soft cloth (to remove excess glue)
step-by-step instructions
1. Turn off the hot glue gun and disconnect it from the power supply 🔌
- Make sure the glue gun is turned off and unplugged .
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes , but keep it slightly warm - this will make it easier to remove the old nozzle as the glue has not yet fully hardened.
2. Wear heat-resistant gloves 🧤
- Even if the glue gun has cooled down a bit, residual heat can still cause burns.
3. Loosen and remove old nozzle 🔧
- Use an adjustable wrench or pliers to gently grip the nozzle.
- Turn it anti-clockwise to unscrew it.
- If the nozzle is stuck, use gentle force to avoid damaging the glue gun.
4. Remove adhesive residue 🧼
- Use a soft cloth to wipe off excess adhesive from the nozzle and threaded connection.
- If the glue has already hardened, heat the glue gun slightly to soften it before removing it.
5. Attach new nozzle 🔩
- Take the replacement nozzle and screw it clockwise .
- Do not tighten too much to avoid damaging the thread.
6. Test the glue flow ✅
- Plug the glue gun back in and let it heat up.
- Gently squeeze the trigger to check that the adhesive flows evenly from the new nozzle.
